During the past decades there has been an ongoing decrease in the younger generation linkage to their heritage, as well as their linkage to the country and the environment. Without heritage, man is like a rootless tree, bound to be uprooted.
Israeli Institute of Archaeology has taken upon itself to create an educational community project to renew the link between the population and their local heritage.

BERESHEET is an archaeological educational community endeavors to renew the link between people and their heritage. Our goal is to increase the linkage between the community and its heritage while becoming acquainted with the various aspects of our historic and cultural past of Israel.
We believe these goals will be best achieved by helping the community adopt a nearby historic or archaeological site. Various educational activities may be developed surrounding the site, enabling various age groups of students to take an active part in researching, maintaining and developing the site.
